Land services should work for everyone.

ACRES is being built for people who navigate by keyboard, listen with a screen reader, enlarge text, reduce motion or simply need a clearer path through a complicated process.

What works today

Designed around more than one way to use the web.

Use it without a mouse

Links, buttons, form controls and expandable sections use standard browser controls. Keyboard focus is visibly outlined throughout the product.

Hear what changes

Controls have accessible names, form errors are announced, and changing search or application states use live status messages where the interface updates in place.

Choose a comfortable view

ACRES supports light and dark themes, responsive layouts, browser zoom and text wrapping. Important status information is paired with words or symbols, not colour alone.

Reduce unnecessary motion

When your device requests reduced motion, ACRES shortens animations and transitions and removes repeated decorative movement where possible.

Practical guide

Using ACRES with assistive technology

Keyboard
Press Tab to move forward and Shift + Tab to move back. Use Enter or Space to activate the focused control. On the home page, the first focusable link skips directly to the main content.
Screen reader
Navigate by headings and landmarks to move between the main journey, forms and supporting information. Form fields expose their required and error states, and changing results are announced where supported.
Zoom and text size
Use your browser zoom controls—usually Ctrl/ and + or . The layout rearranges on narrower screens instead of requiring a fixed desktop width.
Speech and language
You can type instead of speaking at every point. Situation descriptions currently accept English, हिन्दी and অসমীয়া; availability of voice input depends on browser support.
